Your recipes belong to you

On your device

Your recipes, grocery lists, and meal plans live on your device. There is no Gratin server storing your data.

Sync is just a relay

When you sync between devices, an encrypted message passes through a simple relay. It cannot read your recipes, and neither can we.

No account needed

No email. No password. No tracking. No ads. You just open the app and start cooking.

Built to outlast us

Gratin is built on Evolu, an open-source sync protocol. Your recipes are stored as standard data on your device, not locked inside someone's cloud.

You can run your own sync relay, use any compatible one, or turn sync off entirely. If Gratin disappeared tomorrow, your data would still be yours.

I built Gratin for my own kitchen. I made sure it doesn't need me to keep running.
